Chapter 24

He who stands on tiptoe
doesn't stand firm.
He who rushes ahead
doesn't go far.
He who tries to shine
dims his own light.
He who defines himself
can't know who he really is.
He who has power over others
can't empower himself.
He who clings to his work
will create nothing that endures.

  1. Again simple words hard to adhere to, it seems our culture promotes bragging and display. In order to get promoted in a job you have to show what you have done plus what you are capable of. In sports, reporters are always pushing athletes to brag about their accomplishments, yet the great ones always are humble, credit others and thus they endure.

  3. Steamy late July quiet - Black Eyed Susans - drops of rain-water glistening on green Fern fronds as Fuchsia flash pink woven through - Hibiscus hollers "hello" with clear color energy in this only day of summer well lived as sunlight highlights life within the living and non.
